a day making model rockets and exploring how the various types of motors work

Through contacts with the NSW Rocketry Association and the Australian Youth Rocketry Challenge increase awareness of how chemical reactions are what powers rockets into space and are our only means of travelling in space.

Students will learn how the various types of rocket motors work, leading to the construction and flight of a small model rocket using safe, commercially available model rocket motors.

This activity will most likely have critiical event days such as first liquid fuel rocket, first satellite, man in space, etc.

Topic: hands-on activities, engaging the youth Audience: students, primary schools
