The idea is to gather enough laboratory materials to create more interactions and a real dynamic between the local schools and our NGO. We wish to bring to our children the opportunity to use and develop their knowledge to help and support the local community.
TSP is a NGO localized close to San Lorenzo el Teja, in Guatemala, which aims to bring to the local community the essentials needs, with regard to health issues.
We are accommodated in three main buildings, surrounded by a botanic garden, in the area of San Miguel. So far, we produce cream and shampoo in our laboratory, with kid(s) in internship from the local schools. BUT! Here, things can changes. With the IYC, we hope to gather enough laboratory material to provide to our young and future alumni, from our community, with the good equipment to discover what chemistry is really about.
We have more than 35 medicinal plants in our botanic garden, a large space available for laboratory material, and the dedication and experience of Celestina (our president and also a local medicinal plants specialist) to support our project.
The idea is to gather enough materials to create more interactions and a real dynamic between the local schools and our NGO. Therefore, our children will have to opportunity to use and develop their knowledge to help and support the local community.
We believe that the desire to learn is what can bring people together for a better future. So, here we have the wonderful opportunity to create a space for learning, close to mother-nature, and among the local communities.
