Chemistry VideosIdea by John Malin | added on Jan 28, 2010 12:28PM Suggestion
It's a video world, now easier than ever before to make a video and post it on YouTube. IYC 2011 can encourage students, professionals and organizations to make videos showing how chemistry improves people's lives. They can post them and provide the web addresses on a forum shown on the IYC 2011 webpage.
Idea: Create a forum featuring links to illustrative and creative chemistry videos posted on YouTube or elsewhere. IYC 2011 could feature the URLs of the best of these productions.
Two current examples are provided in the links given here: (1) One can watch students discover the challenge and thrill of science fair experiments, and (2) a series is available of video interviews with famous organic chemists. The power of this medium and its easy availability to individuals suggest that many more themes can be developed.
