Showing how chemistry is related to everything to increase interest

One way to increase interest in chemistry is to show how it relates to essentially everything. Demonstrations could be done to show how chemistry is needed for a wide variety of things, such as electronics, plastics, medicine, etc. If people see how much chemistry is in their daily lives and realize it, they may be more interested in it.

It would largely depend on their ages and interests. Try to find out some of the chemistry involved in things that they enjoy or hobbies. For example, if they are always on the computer, or cell phone, or tv, etc than you could try to explain the electrochemistry of the batteries needed to power these devices.
