IYC or IUPAC should do something for the development and future of chemistry in under developed countries like pakistan etc.

i was  much disappointed while i was watching the list of upcoming events of chemistry in the year 2011 and there was not even a single workshop or seminar in pakistan ... iyc or iupac should something for it

Topic: workshops, conferences, exhibition, engaging the youth, experiments, science fair, history of chemistry, seminars, chemistry olympiad Audience: secondary schools, scientists, educators, professional chemists, teachers, tertiary education, primary schools, iyc enthusiasts, researchers, decision makers, post secondary students

Hmmmm... Well, that is true. But FYI, there is going to be an international workshop at HEJ, Karachi in Dec 2010. We are working on it, its still tentative.

I think the lack of conferences in our country is more due to lack of funds from HEC etc. But certainly IUPAC should also consider helping in this regard.

I guess that It can be good for the poor countries. probably for each year one of them having a conference will not be easy maybe can be a group.
