Famous but little publicly known chemists

The Idea is to implement these portraits under a conference form. I had selected chemists whose important aspects of their lives were unknown, surprising or choking or the three altogether.

During last year, I have been airing, on a Grenoble local radio, the portraits of a few famous chemists. The idea is to implement these portraits under a conference form. I had selected chemists whose important aspects of their lives were unknown, surprising or choking or the three altogether. I went from the Dupont de Nemours saga to the story of a disregarded chemist, Borodine and the extraordinary life of his friend, Mendeleïev. I talked also about the ugly Fritz Haber who incredibly was granted the Nobel Prize in 1919 and about the sad story of Rosalind Franklin. The portrait formats have been well received by the audience and I would like to present two conferences in which I will talk each time about two or three of these chemists.

Topic: conferences, history of chemistry Audience: general public, students, scientists
