A Global Stamp Competition
Poeja Lachman and Dragana Caldrmoski from the Netherlands have already submitted their entry for the Global Stamp Competition. Surely inspired by the spring-like weather, the stamp they created alludes to Van Gogh’s Sunflowers and his use of bright-yellow pigments.
Students everywhere are encouraged to take part in a Global Stamp Competition in which they design and submit stamps that highlight the impact of chemistry on their country’s culture and everyday life. Launched at the IYC Opening Ceremony in Paris in 27-28 January 2011, the competition is open to 3 age categories: 12-14, 15-18, and undergraduate college students from all subjects (not just chemistry).
Interested students can find detailed guidelines and submit their stamp designs here.
The Deadline for submissions is 15 June 2011. The winning stamps will be unveiled during the IYC 2011 Closing Ceremony at the Grand Palais in Brussels, Belgium.
