IUPAC World Chemistry Congresses are organized every two years. They constitue an opportunity for chemists around the world to meet and share exciting research developments. For this coming 2011 event to be held in Puerto Rico, the following plenary speakers have already confirmed their participation:
Aaron Ciechanover (2004 Nobel Laureate in Chemistry)
Richard Ernst (1991 Nobel)
Robert Grubbs (2005 Nobel)
Roald Hoffmann (1981 Nobel)
Mario Molina (1995 Nobel)
Ada E. Yonath (2009 Nobel)
A special topic, important for local and regional needs in Puerto Rico, will be the role of biotechnology in the development of the agricultural and pharmaceutical industry.
