Northeastern Section-Younger Chemists Committee Exchange Trip to Germany

Twelve students (10 graduate and two undergraduate) from colleges and universities within NESACS will travel to Nürnberg, Germany, to partake in excursions to industrial, academic, scientific, and cultural institutions in the area, and participate in the student chemistry research conference (Frühjahrssymposium) of the Jungchemikerforum (Young Chemists Committee) of the Gesellschaft Deutscher Chemiker (German Chemical Society), which will provide the opportunity for the participants to engage in extensive networking with German and other European students, and to take part in discussions focused on careers, education, and international opportunities.  The students will come from the following institutions: Boston University (4), Boston College (2), Harvard University (2), and one each from Dartmouth College, the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, Bridgewater State University, and Tufts University.  They will be accompanied by the Chair of the NESACS Younger Chemists Committee (a graduate student at Tufts University), a professor from the Universitey of Massachusetts Lowell, and a chemist from a pharmaceutical company.
