In this section, your ideas for IYC2011 can start to become reality. Here, you can submit activities for consideration and, after a short review, they will be listed below and any related events will populate the IYC calendar. Activities listed here have a clearly defined theme and describe how, when, and where they will take place.
If you are not quite ready to submit a plan, keep working at it and come back soon. And remember, you can always browse and search this forum to find out what others are planning and even add your own comments to the discussion.
Lithography of Polymer Nanostructures on Glass for Teaching Polymer Chemistry and Physics
Charles michael Drain | added on Feb 11, 2011 | United States
an experiment that uses simple CD-Rs, C-clamps, an oven, and a freezer that provides concrete examples and insights into the chemistry and principles of nanolithography. The experiment also has flexibility, making it suitable for a range of classroom levels from high school to more advanced labs in college.
Gold: Faraday Discussion 152
Ann Ennis | added on Dec 02, 2010 | United Kingdom
The chemistry of gold was once relatively undeveloped, but this is no longer the case. The observation that gold, when sub-divided to the nanoscale, can be exceptionally active as a catalyst, has spurred a great number of discoveries. Gold now fascinates material scientists, catalysis, surface and synthetic chemists and theore
