Activities listed here have a clearly defined theme and describe how, when, and where they will take place.

Chemical Landmark: Kekule at Ghent

On October 28 the work of August Kekule at Ghent University will be marked with the presentation of an RSC Chemical Landmark to Ghent University. The ceremony starts at 16:00 in the Aula of the University of Ghent with a reception afterwards.
The 100th Anniversary Symposium on Organic Synthesis, Japan

The symposium on synthetic organic chemistry composed by approx. sixty oral and poster presentations. In the third day, great chemists, Drs. Teruaki Mukaiyama, Kenji Mori, Jiro Tsuji, and Zen-ichi Yoshida will give lecture for Special Seminars.

Papers are welcomed for a Special Issue in Chemistry Central Journal covering "N-Heterocyclic Carbenes". It has only been 20 years since the first stable N-heterocyclic carbene was isolated, but these compounds have already gained widespread use in chemistry, e.g. as ligands in catalysis.
