In this section, your ideas for IYC2011 can start to become reality. Here, you can submit activities for consideration and, after a short review, they will be listed below and any related events will populate the IYC calendar. Activities listed here have a clearly defined theme and describe how, when, and where they will take place.

The Robert Boyle Seminar

Robert Boyle Science Festival

A three-day event to be held at Lismore Castel to celebrate the 350th Anniversary orf the publication of Robert Boyle's, "The Sceptical Chemyst". Lectures and Discussions about the evolution of the atmosphere, climate change and the Life of Boyle will be held in addition to Astronomy Classes and Chemical Demonstrations.
Limerick - Exhibition: “Marie Curie (1867 - 1934)”

The Materials and Surface Science Institute at the University of Limerick is hosting in August the exhibition "Marie Curie (1867 - 1934)" in partnership with the Embassy of France in Ireland as part of the International Year of Chemistry 2011.

Elements - The Beauty of Chemistry

An exhibition that brings together Science and Art, focusing on selected elements from the Periodic Table. It includes an Atomic Kitchen, where visitors can do experiments, and there is a series of associated lab-based workshops specially designed to cater for the younger generation.
