Here, you can submit activities for consideration and, after a short review, they will be listed below and any related events will populate the IYC calendar. Activities listed here have a clearly defined theme and describe how, when, and where they will take place.

The topic will be to imagine a "World without Polymers" and to write about the detrimental effect on society if polymers were absent. We expect to award prizes including a trip to the World Chemical Congress for award winners.

Water–A Chemical Solution: A Global Experiment Javier Garcia-Martinez   |   added on Aug 19, 2010    |    International School students around the world will be invited to explore one of Earth’s most critical resources, water. The results of their investigations will contribute to a Global Experiment, which will possibly become the biggest chemistry experiment ever.

Women Sharing a Chemical Moment in Time Mary Garson   |   added on May 08, 2010    |    International "Women Sharing a Chemical Moment in Time" will bring together women chemists from 37 countries on 18 January 2011 using modern communication tools; each country/region will arrange its own event(s) and individual breakfasts will be linked together by SKYPE/video, and by using Twitter.

IYC 2011 - International Launching Ceremony Rovani Sigamoney   |   added on Jan 25, 2010    |    International An opening ceremony for the International Year of Chemistry will be held in Paris, at the UNESCO HQ, under the aegis of the UN, UNESCO, and IUPAC.
