Chemistry IYC Quiz for Secondary School Students Vaughn Rattray   |   added on Aug 27, 2011    |    Jamaica Selected secondary schools in Kingston and St . Andrew will be invited to participate in a one day quiz competition at the Chemistry Department at the University of the West Indies, Mona Campus.

Chemistry YouTube Video Competition in Jamaica Vaughn Rattray   |   added on Aug 27, 2011    |    Jamaica The competition entitled “Chemistry in Everyday Life” will invite secondary level local schools to submit video clips depicting this theme.These will be posted on YouTube and the winner will then be decided by the number of ‘likes’ each video has received.

History of the Chemistry Department at UWI, Mona, Jamaica Robert Lancashire   |   added on Jan 25, 2011    |    Jamaica A book highlighting the early years of the Chemistry Department at UWI, Mona has just been published and it is hoped to ensure copies are made available to all schools in the country as well as all parish and local libraries.

Research Day 2011 at University of the West Indies (Mona) Vaughn Rattray   |   added on Jan 20, 2011    |    Jamaica An exhibition of the research activities of the university's Mona campus in Kingston will take place on January 27-28, 2011. The Chemistry Department will be using the occasion to highlight IYC2011 with presentations, demonstrations and exhibits related to the IYC 2011 goals of the role of chemistry in our lives.
