Chemistry of Chocolate Monica Metzler   |   added on May 16, 2011    |    United States Chemistry of chocolate is a unique program for the adult public to open people's minds to thinking about chemistry in unexpected ways. A professor of chemistry, and R&D Specialist from a chocolate manufacturer will explain and demonstrate various chemical reactions in the chocolate-making process.

Held at the distillery, a professor of chemistry will address chemical reactions in the distillation process and how various flavors are achieved.

Chemistry of Beer Monica Metzler   |   added on May 15, 2011    |    United States Chemistry of beer is a unique program offered to the adult public to open people's minds to thinking about chemistry in unexpected ways. This program will address alcohol content, flavors, and "skunking" of beer. It will be offered at a local craft brewery and led by a professor of chemistry from Northwestern University.

Distinguished Women in Chemistry / Chemical Engineering Janet Bryant   |   added on May 14, 2011    |    United States The symposium is planned for August 2, 2011 at the IUPAC World Chemistry Congress in Puerto Rico, and will also inlcude the award presentation to the 23 Distinguished Women in Chemistry/Chemical Engineering, and a public event, a re-enactment play of Marie Curie by professional actress, Susan Frontczak.

Weather and Science Day with the Colorado Rockies Steve Spangler   |   added on May 11, 2011    |    United States Colorado Weather and Science Day will teach elements of chemistry, physics, weather and sound to thousands of students at Coors Field in Denver. Students will participate in hands-on demonstrations to learn about elements of chemistry.
