The textbook is written in response to a specific demand from student for a comprehensive introduction to problem solving. It is intended primarily for self-study by college students who need to develop their skills in basic chemical calculations during a first-semester of the chemistry course. The chemical problems, mainly stoichiometry of chemical compounds and chemical equations, preparation of solutions and laws for ideal gas are presented. The used symbols of quantities and units as well as chemical terminology are in accordance with IUPAC, resp. ISO recommendations.
