Early career researchers (postdoctoral students, graduate students and undergraduate students), who are doing research in the Boulder Laboratories, make poster presentations to a broad audience on June 22, 2011. Special recognition is awarded for Outstanding Presentations.

Early career researchers (postdoctoral students, graduate students, undergraduate students), who are doing research in the Boulder Laboratories of the Dept of Commerce or in its joint and cooperative institutes, are invited to make poster presentations on their research. The event will be held on June 22, 2011 in the Main Lobby of NIST Building 1. This conference will begin with a lightning round of brief talks by presenters, meant to introduce the audience to their topics. The lightning round will be followed by a one-hour networking session where presenters will visit each other and enjoy refreshments provided by the sponsors. The final two hours of the conference will be open to Boulder Labs staff and their guests. Senior scientists will roam the event and will select one or more presenters to receive an Outstanding Presentation Award. Midway through the session, these awards are distributed by Boulder Labs' senior leadership and the symposium chair. Prior to the conference, presenters will be asked to identify that chemistry is a relevant discipline to their research by inserting the IYC2011 logo on their poster.  Posters with the IYC2011 logo that are selected for Outstanding Presentations will receive an additional award, which is an IUPAC Compendium of Chemical Terminology (Gold Book).
