Shell Singapore Youth Science Festival 2011

Science Centre Singapore, Science Teachers Association of Singapore (STAS), and Shell Companies in Singapore are jointly organising the 34th Shell Singapore Youth Science Festival, which aims to promote science through participation in various learning activities. This year's theme is "Chemistry is in our Life."

The Science Centre Singapore, Science Teachers Association of Singapore (STAS), and Shell Companies in Singapore are jointly organising the 34th Singapore Youth Science Festival (SYSF) over the period of March 2011 to 4th June 2011.

Introduced in 1978, the Shell Singapore Youth Science Festival (SSYSF) has become an integral part of the school calendar with over 100,000 students and educators participating in this annual event. The SSYSF aims to promote science and the education of science through participation in various learning activities by students of Primary, Secondary and Pre-University levels as well as educators.

The objectives of the Singapore Youth Science Festival (SYSF) are:

•       to give youth a deeper insight into science and technology

•       to provide young scientists an opportunity to discuss scientific probjems and the implications of science on society

•       to allow educators of youth to exchange views and experiences in science education
