Mount Allison University Celebrates ChemistryActivity by Andrew Grant | added on May 20, 2011 | Canada
Mount Allison University and the Department of Chemistry/Biochemistry are pleased initiate a series of activities on our campus in Sackville, NB, Canada, welcoming school children and the general public. We hope to raise awareness and appreciation of chemistry in a fun and educational environment.
The first event of the year will be our Chemistry Day at Mount A. Mount Allison University is pleased to invite local school children to campus for a special event celebrating the International Year of Chemistry. Demonstrations, a chemistry magic show and interactive showcase will be followed by a BBQ.
This is an excellent opportunity to showcase some of our work in a fun and educational setting. We want to generate enthusiasm for chemistry and increase public understanding.
Further to our Chemistry Day at Mount A, we will be publishing articles over the summer in our local weekly newspaper on research taking place at Mount Allison University as well as interesting and relevant stories on the importance of chemistry.
In the fall we are hoping to hold an even larger public event inviting members of the surrounding community on campus. More information will be added at a later date.
