A public facing event for ags 5+ where will cover basic aspects of photosynthesis, carbon capture, wood cells, wood fibres, paper making, engineered wood products, dendrochronology.
The event will take place on 14 and 15th April in the John Hope gateway Building, Royal Botanic Garden Edinburgh. The event is also part of the Edinburgh International Science Festival. Links also to International Year of Forests. It is open to all age 5+. There will be hands-on activities and opportunities to learn about photosynthesis, carbon capture, wood fibres, paper-making activity, engineered wood products, and dendrochronology (as a start). We wish to engage the public in the various uses of wood as an important material and of the role of "chemistry" throughout.
