Paraguay is joining to the Women Sharing a Chemical Moment in Time activity which is an IYC activity designed to bring chemistry women together worldwide for a breakfast meeting. This will be held on Tuesday January 18th, 2011.
The Department of Chemistry, Faculty of Exact and Natural Sciences-UNA, the Association of Students of Pure Chemistry and the College of Chemistry of Paraguay is organizing a round table breakfast next January 18th, with the aim of discussing aspects such as education, research, innovation, excellence, communication, culture in different areas in which chemistry’s contribution is specially relevant. The "Chemhandshake" of Paraguay to all countries participating in the "Women Sharing a Chemical Moment in Time"

In Paraguay we had a snack at the Information Center of the United Nations, the event was organized by the Department of Chemistry, Faculty of Exact and Natural Sciences, National University of Asuncion. The participants were 30 women undergraduates, graduate students, professionals from different areas, teachers, graduates in chemical, pharmaceutical, chemical engineers. We contacted Mary Garson and groups from Canada, Mexico and Peru. We talked about the life of Marie Curie and objectives of the IYC and hope that events like this from recurring. Congratulations to Mary Garson for this wonderful initiative!
