Design, production, and release of Euro-based postage stamp in Slovak Republic

The Slovak Chemical Society has proposed the design, production, and release of a Euro-based postage stamp bearing the logo of the International Year of Chemistry (IYC 2011). Targeted release date is January 2011.
The Slovak Chemical Society has proposed the design, production, and release of a Euro-based postage stamp to celebrate the upcoming International Year of Chemistry (IYC 2011). The new stamp will bear the logo of the IYC 2011 and has been accepted and approved by the relevant authorities of the Slovak Republic.
Currently, the graphical design of the new stamp is being prepared. The targeted release date is January 2011. The issuance of the stamp will be complemented by a First Day Cover (FDC/envelope), which will make it desirable to stamp collectors all over the world.
By creating this stamp, an item used daily by many people in all walks of life, the intention is to increase the public awareness of the importance of chemistry to all people and to strengthen positively its global image.
