Science Saturday - Celebrating IYC2011

Hands-on science experiments for children are among the many activities planned for area residents during this year's celebration of the International Year of Chemistry (2011). The event is an outreach program hosted by the Southwest Georgia section of the American Chemical Society and Valdosta State University College of Arts

The celebration will kick off at 9 am February 12, 2011 at Bailey Science Building of Valdosta State University with a morning of hands-on science activities for students of all ages and their parents. Chemistry faculty and area chemists will supervise and explain the importance of each activity. Public will experience chemical transformations, and learn about energy, materials, the environment, and health.
