MonSay Celebrates IYC2011: A School Community Information Campaign

This is in celebration of the International Year of Chemistry aiming to dissemenate information on the history and significance of the field of chemistry in the sustainable development of our society last July 28 and 29, 2011 at the RMHS Library, Espana Boulevard, Sampaloc, 1008 City of Manila, Philippines
It was held last July 28 and 29, 2011 at the RMHS Library, Espana Boulevard, Sampaloc, 1008 City of Manila, Philippines. This is in celebration of the International Year of Chemistry aiming to dissemenate information on the history and significance of the field of chemistry in the sustainable development of our society.
Two classroom teaching demonstration on Chemistry was conducted inviting all science teachers from the Division of Manila to observed in two parallel sessions both in the morning and the afternoon. An exhibit was also made available for the public to view (including the community). This include a chemistry history timeline, science fair and a food preservation workshop (participated by homemakers therefore informing them that the kitchen has been run by them with the aid of Chemistry). It also highlighted the works of Marie Curie and that all presentors are women teaching and handling Chemistry.
