Chemistry in a Flash is a  science photography contest aiming at illustrating the importance of  chemistry in our life. It is co-organized between the Department of Chemistry and the "Fábrica" Science Center of Aveiro and will be open to participants from 10-November 2011 to 31-January 2012.

The contest is open to four categories of participants: basic school students, secondary school students, university students, and general public. The jury includes a representative of the rectory of the University of Aveiro, two professors of the Chemistry Department and a well-known local artist/photographer.

Three photographs will be selected in each category. and prizes will be awarded during the Department's Chemistry day, in March 2012.  An exhibition of the best photos will be prepared after the contest, to be presented at the "Fábrica" Science Center of Aveiro facilities (open to the general public) and during special events at the Department of Chemistry (mainly secondary school visitors).
