“Flash, Bang, Wallop”
with Plenty of Colour

Uncover some of the secrets of chemical reactions – especially those of a spectacular kind!  An exciting show that promises
to blow the lid of Chemistry’s possibly dusty image.

Chemistry is a fascinating subject and although the emphasis in the chemistry show will be on showcasing the more spectacular reactions which involve, heat, light (colour) and sound. The underlying message will be to consider what drives chemical reactions and how important it is to understand the energy involved and the speed of reactions if we are to contribute support to some of the key problems faced by modern society. Chemists have key roles to play in everyone’s future.

“It’s a Gas”

Close-up and personal. Meet a range of gases in an exciting and entertaining context. Learn something about the chemistry of combustion processes and a little about fireworks.

Chemistry is fun and exciting. The emphasis in this chemistry show will be introducing
the subject to youngsters in years 5,6 and 7 and helping to integrate primary
and secondary schools in topics which are common to key stages 2 and 3.
