To create awareness among the women students about the contribution of chemistry in relation to women empowerment and, in reciprocation, the role of women in the development of chemistry.
On the eve of IYC-2011, the department of chemistry of ASD Govt. Degree college, Kakinada, India, is organizing one day state level work shop on "Role of chemistry Vis-A-Vis Women Empowerment " (RCWE-2011) an IYC-2011 activity ,an on dt:24.08.2011 at the college campus. We are doing this activity in collaboration with ACT( Association of chemistry Teachers), Mumbai, and Science vision (NGO), Kakinada. The basic objective of the title is to learn the contribution of chemistry in relationto women empowerment and the role of women in the development of chemistry. This is to encourage and motivate the women students to choose chemistry as one of their best carer opportunities because, more than 80% of our students are from rural background and economicall weaker sections.
