The 29 RSC Publishing journals provide a channel to promote chemistry across a broad portfolio of chemistry journals, including core and niche chemistry subject areas.

Having the IYC 2011 associated with the RSC’s journals will increase global visibility and support of chemistry:

Journals are published up to 48 times a year and the RSC Publishing average impact factor is 5.4 whilst the average for a chemistry journal is 2.4 (the impact factor indicates the average number of citations to articles published in a journal). Of the top 20 journals in the multi disciplinary chemistry category, 25% are from RSC Publishing. To encourage both young and new scientists into the field, RSC journals publish themed issues which focus on the work of outstanding young scientists. RSC journals are published by The Royal Society of Chemistry (RSC) originated in 1841 and the largest European organisation for advancing the chemical sciences. As a not-fro-profit society the RSC is committed to investing in science; in 2009 we were able to devote £36.9 million to charitable
