Monitoring of Fresh Water Bodies

Water monitoring of fresh water bodies by public school students from elementary, intermediate and high school students. Undergraduate students of Caribbean University are also participating in the water monitoring program.
A water monitoring of some fresh water bodies were started on May 22, 2011. Students and teachers from several public schools, like Jesús Sánchez Eraso School, Dr. José Antonio Dávila School, both located in Bayamón, Puerto Rico. A group of Home scholars from Bayamón municipality is also participating in this water monitoring program. Undergradute students from Caribbean University got involved in this effort both sampling and training school teachers and students. Other public and private schools will be enrolled in this project to increase the public appreciation and understanding of chemistry and the importance of protecting water resources.
