Dr. Joe Schwarcz, of McGill University's Office for Science and Scoiety, will give a public talk at the University of New Brunswick, aimed at dispelling some of commonly-held misconceptions people have about chemistry and chemicals.

Dr. Joe Schwarcz, of McGill University's Office for Science and Society, will deliver a public lecture aimed at casting a more positive light on the role of chemistry and chemicals in our daily lives.

8:00 pm, Thursday, September 29th

Room 105 MacLaggan Hall, University of New Brunswick, Fredericton campus

This is a wonderful way to bring the IYC to the public's attention and get people in our community thinking about chemistry in their own lives. We hope to encourage as many high school students as possible to attend and start thinking about chemistry as a choice for their post-secondary education.

This is only the first of our planned activities, and what a great way to launch IYC events at UNB!  It is our hope that the greater Fredericton community will be interested in this lecture, and then in participating in our open-house being planned for October.

Topic: celebrating chemistry, chemistry education, sustainable and green chemistry Audience: students, general public, professors, educators, universities, teachers, educational institutions, secondary school students, tertiary education, school children, secondary schools, graduate students, secondary schools students
