Summer School in Chemistry: IYC, our frontiers and challenges

This year the 31st Summer School in Chemistry has the theme “The International Year of Chemistry, our frontiers and challenges”. The program includes short-courses (15 hours) in chemometrics, synthesis and application of nanocrystals, development of new methods for clean and renewable energy, and mass spectrometry analysis.

The 31st Summer School in Chemistry was held at the Department of Chemistry, Federal University of São Carlos, SP, Brazil, from February 21-25, 2011. This year the event  had the theme “ The Internacional Year of Chemistry, our Frontiers and Challenges” . The program included short-courses (15 hours) in chemometrics, synthesis and application of nanocrystals, development of new methods for clean and renewable energy, and mass spectrometry analysis.  Several distinguished professors attended this School as professors Romá Tauler Ferré and Damià Barceló (Institute of Environmental Assessment and Water Research, Barcelona, Spain), Lee Penn (University of Minnesota, USA), and Bernard Champagnon (Université Claude Bernard - Lyon, França).

We had more than 150 participants among undergraduate and graduate students, pos-docs and professors from different Brazilian universities.
