Science Rendezvous is a one day festival style celebration of science for the public. Come celebrate science with us Saturday May 7 at the Telus World of Science in Edmonton!
A one-day Science Festival at TELUS World of Science
11211 142 Street Northwest, Edmonton
Designed to promote the importance of science to society. Science Rendezvous is an event that engages people in different activities, by de-mystifying science – with the ultimate aim of getting young people interested in science and technology education in the future. Science Rendezvous was initiated Greater Toronto Area (GTA) in 2008 and continues to develop collaborative partnerships between educational, civic, science-based associations and outreach programs and business institutions to promote science awareness as well as science culture and literacy. This year Science Rendezvous activities will be integrated with events held across the country celebrating the International Year of Chemistry (IYC), establishing a national presence for the festival in the future.
Activities at TELUS World of Science include:
Celebrating International Year of Chemistry – come see what scientists from across the city are working on. We’ll have an opportunity for you to do science activities for all ages. Something for everyone from the serious to the quirky.
10:00 a.m. until 4:00 p.m
Participate in some of our indoor and outdoor activities in celebration of International Astronomy Day. Telescopes will be set up as well as amateur astronomers on hand to answer your questions.
1:00 p.m. until 12 midnight
Alberta Forest Week ends on May 7 – with a celebration of everything our forests have to offer us. Consider that forests provide habitat to many animals and plants; vital oxygen for our planet; places to go camping, walking and hiking; and provide jobs and materials that fuel our economy. Take the opportunity to make a personal connection with the forests that surround you, by participating in a variety of hands-on activities.
10:00 a.m. until 4:00 p.m.
