Science demonstrations will be conducted for grade 5-7 students in a light-hearted way to present concepts such as chemical reactions, with hands on experiments to make 'slime'. The intent of these presentations is to encourage the interest of young people in science and chemistry in a fun and interactive manner.

Cameco Corporation’s Innovation & Technology Development Research Centre will conduct classroom science demonstrations for grade 5-7 students in the area surrounding Port Hope, Ontario, Canada.  These demonstrations are a light-hearted way to present concepts such as phase changes, density and chemical reactions.  They also include a hands-on experiment to make “slime,” using polyvinyl alcohol and borax (sodium tetraborate).  The intent of these presentations is to encourage the interest of young people in science and chemistry in a fun, interactive manner.
