Science in the Arts: Chemistry will be celebrated by exploring its story and impact as reflected in the arts.

Science in the Arts: Chemistry will be celebrated by exploring its story and impact as reflected in the arts. Any science can be seen from the point of view of its findings, practical applications and impact on society. While it
is impossible to understand biological life or the environment without
chemistry, the arts address the individual, the society, and the culture.  They
also highlight personal contributions to many seminal findings of science through portraiture. Our series Science in the Arts, by Marek Dominiczak, Professor of Clinical Biochemistry and Medical Humanities at the University of Glasgow, will explore the interface of the arts and chemistry in 12 paintings presented throughout the year with commentaries in the Clinical Chemist. Each issue highlights the paintings at www.clinchem.org.

Topic: celebrating chemistry, conferences, networking, seminars, educational materials, sustainable and green chemistry, workshops, demonstrations, competition, analytical chemistry, website, art, biotechnology, industrial trade fair Audience: students, professional chemists, professors, general public, educators, research scientists, industrial chemists, universities, teachers, post graduate students, women chemists, educational institutions, decision makers, tertiary education, secondary school students, high schools, school children, secondary schools, secondary schools students
