Royal College of Arts , Science and Commerce,Mira Road, Thane Distict ,India has organised a National level Seminar on "New Methodologies in Chemistry Education' on December 20, 2011 to address the new challenges in Chemistry Education.
The National Seminar on "NEW METHODOLOGIES IN CHEMISTRY EDUCATION" is being organised for the benefit of Chemistry teachers many of whom have recently joined the profession. It will expose the young teachers to the emerging challenges in Chemistry education. A special effort is on to motivate lady teachers to participate in the deliberations and to interact with the learned faculty .Teachers are encouraged to present their work in front of their peers. The seminar will bring together teachers, scientists, industrial chemists and policy framers to deliberate on the challenges facing the Chemistry fraternity.
Royal College of Arts, Science and Commerce,an 'A' Grade affiliated college of University of Mumbai, has organised a National level seminar on "New Methodologies in Chemistry Education" on December 20,2011 The changing global scenario has brought into sharp focus several challenges in the field of Chemistry Education.One of the major challenges is environmental and sustainable development.
There is an urgent need to reform the present Chemistry curriculum to make it more relevant to the changing trends in industry and research. The seminar will provide a platform for interaction between academicians, scientists, industry and policy makers
The resourse persons for the one day seminar are:

Dr S Sivaram, Former Director, National Chemical Laboratory, Pune
Prof Anil Kumar, IIT-Bombay
Participants are invited to make oral or poster presentations on the theme of the seminar as well as the sub theme-Challenges in the field of Chemistry
