In the occasion of the University's of Jordan 50th anniversary, and inspired by the International Year of Chemistry (IYC), it is my great pleasure , on behalf of the organizing committee, to extend a warm invitation to you to participation in the International Conference of Young Chemists (ICYC), to be held in Amman- Jordan on April 8 - 10, 2012. The ICYC provides opportunities for young chemists to expand their scientific horizons connect with their peers and enhance their international collaboration.

This conference is organized to celebrate 2011 as the International Year of Chemistry (IYC), which was initiated by the IUPAC and declared by the UNESCO.  The main aim of this conference is to “encourage interest in chemistry among young people, and to generate enthusiasm for the creative future of chemistry” which is one of the IYC goals.

ICYC will focus immensely on the new generation of scientists who are equipped with skills and eager to get the latest knowledge about the dynamic world. This is an excellent opportunity for young chemists, MSc and PhD students, post doctorate and fresh graduates, not only to present their research work through oral or poster presentations, but also to get involved with scientists, expertise, socialize, and extend their network to meet old friends and make new ones.

The scientific program will include oral and poster presentations and will address all disciplines of chemistry.

In addition to the scientific program, the conference will include a an exhibition of Jordanian industry along with a  Job Fair which will highlight the areas in which chemists can use their knowledge to the benefit of the society. Also it will open doors for school students to participate in a Science Fair. This will bring together university professors, graduates students, school students and people working in different fields of chemistry, under the theme of IYC “Chemistry- our life, our future”
