We intend to launch the International Year of Chemistry agenda at the closing ceremony of the Conference on the International Year of Biodiversity we are organizing in Brazil.

The International Conference and Corporative Panel commemorating the International Year of Biodiversity will take place on November 23, 2010, in São Paulo. The program and the conference have the institutional support from the Brazilian government and Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Itamaraty. They have also been authorized by the Convention on Biological Diversity, with the presence of authorities, presidents and high level board executives of national and international private organizations recognized as globally responsible leaders, strong media support and representatives of the academies. Our intention is to launch the International Year of Chemistry agenda at the closing ceremony of the Conference on the International Year of Biodiversity. We propose, with the International Conference, a space for discussion, dialogue and debate, attempting to raise environmental awareness and contribute to the Rio +20, happening in 2012. Brazil is the country with the widest biodiversity in the planet. The relevance of such meeting for information sharing on sustainable development is paramount in this country of enormous natural beauties and a rapidly growing industry.
