The 9th Spring Meeting of the International Society of Electrochemistry (May 8-11, 2011, Turku, Finland) will include a special session highlighting the success of electrochemistry in order to celebrate the International Year of Chemistry.
The 9th Spring Meeting of the International Society of Electrochemistry will be held in Turku, Finland on May 8-11, 2011. Directly after the opening ceremony on May 8, 2011 we will organize a short (ca 2 h) special session to celebrate the International Year of Chemistry (IYC 2011).
The purpose of this special session is to highlight important discoveries in the field of electrochemistry that already have (or will have) a great impact on society in general. The idea is to highlight the importance of electrochemistry in a way that is understandable also for non-electrochemists and even for non-chemists. The program consists of invited presentations by two eminent electrochemists: Professor Christian Amatore and Professor Christopher Brett.
