A campaign on the essence of understanding chemistry as an important step in living a better life. Encouraging young students from the elementary, secondary and tertiary levels to study chemistry by inviting them to attend exhibits and presentations and lectures. It is a campaign on career opportunities.
The activity is a campaign on the essence of understanding and appreciating chemistry for life and chemistry as an important step in living a better life.
This campaign calls for an audience of youngsters, like elementary school children, students from secondary and tertiary levels, secondary chemistry teachers, educators and invited government officials who can be policy and decision makers.
The activity also aims to encourage the young people to study chemistry in deep by educating them about the possible chemistry careers, their role and responsibilities in the community and environment.
This event will be held at the MSU-IIT gymnasium on February 12, 2011, in coordination with the 32nd Foundation and Anniversary celebration of the College of Science and Mathematics of the MSU-IIT. It is a one-day activity of which the morning session will consists of a lecture and information drive. The afternoon session will be an open house for exhibits and demonstrations on some general concepts in chemistry, green chemistry and chemistry safety. There will also be film showing on relevant topics.
After this one-day activity, this will be conducted on public venues. The specific date and venue will be announced later.
