After the success achieved by the V Latin American Congress of Environmental Physics and Chemistry, carried out from 14 to 17 October 2009, at the University of Tarapacá in Arica - Chile, the Faculty of Pharmaceutical, Biochemical and Biotechnological Sciences  of the University Catholic Santa Maria of Arequipa – Peru, has taken up the challenge of organizing the VI Latin American Congress of Biology, Physics and Chemistry of Environment. It should be noted first of all the inclusion of the Biological Sciences in the title of the Congress and its goals to have a global vision of the environmental sciences.  We will have an important and active participation of researchers from Latin America and the rest of the world in the different areas covered by the Congress, such as: atmosphere, soil, water, new materials and development of processes, education and environmental biotechnology. The Organizing Committee is confident that this event will be of great relevance to students and professionals from related specialties, those who will benefit from the imparted knowledge and the experience of the speakers as well as the papers presented.
