The seventh Euro-Mediterranean Symposium on Laser Induced Breakdown Spectroscopy will be held in the very heart of Mediterranean area, in the city of Bari, Italy, on September 16 - 20 2013 and will host the worldwide community active in the field of laser-induced plasma spectroscopy and correlated technologies.
The conference is organized at the Palace Hotel in the city centre by the Department of Chemistry of University of Bari and the Institute of Inorganic Methodologies and Plasmas of the National Research Council (IMIP-CNR) with the technical support of ENEA UTAPRAD-DIM from Frascati (Rome) and the Applied Laser Spectroscopy Laboratory of ICCOM-CNR from Pisa.
In agreement with the traditional character of this conference and with the scientific background of the plasma community of Bari, a strong effort will be made to create a link between the newest LIBS applications, technologies and methodologies and earlier achievements in laser-induced plasma knowledge, including fundamentals and modeling. Throughout the duration of the conference, social events will be organized in order to promote informal discussions between the participants. A Young Scientist award will be presented to the best contribution given by students.
Selected papers, after the peer-review process, will be published in a series of thematic issues of Spectrochimica Acta Part B devoted to the conference.
