About:

Humber Chemical Focus (HCF) is a not for profit business that acts as a strategic conduit between the chemical, pharmaceutical, petrochemical, renewable energy industries and their supply chains and local and regional authorities and educational establishments.

HCF runs 11 network groups covering,

- Human Factors

- HR

- ChemSkills

- Renewable Energy

- Fire & Security

- Major Hazards

- Environmental Managers

- x 4 Community Liaison Panels

HCF also hosts a vibrant conference and events programme, creates publications and offers promotional platforms for member companies as well as participating in projects that enhance the capability of the sector within the region i.e CATCH a joint project with industry and local authorities to create and provide worldclass training facilities for apprentices.

We are interested in holding an event to promote the benefits of chemistry in general and the industry in our region which contributes more than 6 billion to the economy annually. We also want to attract more young people into the chemical and allied industry due to the anticipated shortage of skills some of our member companies fear they may experience in the near future. Finally we wish to highlight how chemistry is behind the up and coming renewable sector which also has a strong presence in our area. We are yet to consolidate the content of our event but have very similar objectives to the ones stated for IYC.
