I'm Professor of Food Chemistry at School of Pharmacy, Novara (Italy).
My first interest is the knowledge on food chemical composition of foods, both regarding the food quality and food safety themes.
I'm involved on many chemical researches on food composition, food contamination, effect of processing on chemical and biochemical component in foods.
I'm member of the Italian Chemical Society (SCI) - Food Chemistry; member of the Scientific Board of Agrinnova (Turin, Italy); member of the SAFE Consortium, Buxelles; Member of the Scientific Board of Food and Drug Biotechnology Center, Novara, Italy.
I'm currenlty the Chair of the First International Congress on Cocoa, Coffee and Tea (CoCoTea2011, 13-16 September, Novara, Italy), supported by Italian Society of Chemistry, EuCheMS and IMARS.
The chemistry is the key field of this congress, even if strictly linked with biochemistry and nutrigenomics. All the chemical aspects of the field (composition, contaminations, impact of processing on cocoa-coffee-tea, development of novel chemical compounds) will be considered.
Concerning the requested sponsorships, CoCoTea2011 is an European International event, and the Organizing Committee should be very honored to use the logo of the International Year of Chemistry 2011 (the year of our Congress..).
