The ARC Centre of Excellence for Free Radical Chemistry and Biotechnology was established in 2005. The Centre is home to over 140 researchers from Melbourne, Canberra, Sydney, Wollongong, and Brisbane, drawing together a unique grouping of fundamental chemists, medicinal chemists, biochemists, biologists and materials scientists dedicated to the understanding and application of free radical chemistry.
The Centre also has a viberant outreach program educating the general public about free radicals through public events and lectures, and articles in newspapers and magazines.
Throughout the IYC 2011 the Centre will run special events and lectures along side its normal outreach program to highlight the importance of chemistry in today's society.
