About:

I have just stumbled upon the IYC but am a Ceramic Technician at Middlesex University and also a self employed cermicist, designing and making tableware.

I have become increasingly interested in the glaze science involved in my area, working with mostly the transistion elements in oxide form to create colours in ceramic glazes.

I have recently made a series of victorian style jars each representing an oxide - the lids to these jars have the corresponding periodic table information etched into them.

I thought it maybe something i could develop further in relation to the IYC. I also was suprised by seeing that it was the IYC and the coincidence that i had just strated making these pieces. So felt it appropriate to mention.
