About:

I did a PhD in organometallic chemistry at the University of Edinburgh.

I worked as an industrial chemist for 23 years, specialising in foam control (laundry detergents, oil and gas production, fermentation processes) and coatings (additives, high temperature paints, marine paints).

Last year I completed an MSc in Communicating Science.

I want to communicate the benefits that the chemical sciences provide, using examples familiar to the general public e.g. cleaning products and paints.

I am preparing a set of talks and demonstrations on the science of foam that I will propose for inclusion in the IYC 2011. I am working with a partner on foam science workshops for primary schools.
