About:

AFASSA is an acronym for Africa, Asia and South America and stands for a group that coordinates activities of several networks involved in natural products research in Africa, Asia and South America. AFASSA promotes collaborative research in Natural Products Chemistry in countries of the South and South-South linkages in Natural Products Research. Its strategies include the facilitation of training of scientists through South-South promotion of exchange of young scientists and the organization of South-South intercontinental symposia on Natural Products Research. Having obtained funding through an UNESCO Regional Participation Programme for 2010-2011, AFASSA is able to fund request for South-South exchange visits by young scientists from Asian countries working in natural products chemistry or by young scientists from other continents wishing to work at an asian research institution.
