As professor of Organic chemistry involved in university education of chemisty majors as well as minors, and as active in several divisions within my national chemocal sociey I have become increasingly worried about the decineing appreciation of chemistry as a topic. In my role as researcher, I am worried to see a high proportion of talented female new PhDs leaving academic research, and even the area.
