I am professor in Chemistry at the University of Rennes, France.

I think that it is important to show to the young people that the research in Chemistry has a positive impact in their daily life. I hope that IYC 2011 can show to people that the research in different field in chemistry contributes to the well-being of humankind. This can be achieved by exhibition, conferences....

I hope also that more and more women will study chemistry and find an academic or industrial position, especially at the management positions. Only few women have strategic positions.
