About:

I am currently the director of the Institute of Chemistry, University of the Philippines Los Baños and a member of the Chemical Society of the Philippines. We offer undergraduate and graduate degrees in Chemistry, Agricultural Chemistry and Biochemistry. We have a pretty strong extension program geared towards stimulating interest in science, in particular chemistry, among area high schools. This includes teacher training workshops for high school and elementary school teachers and co-sponsorship of the local Regional Chemistry Olympiad, the winner of which participates in the Philippine National Chemistry Olympiad.

We would like to participate in IYC Activities especially in the Global Water Experiment and would like permission to use the resources for this project. In particular, we are thinking of launching a local version of the experiment and we plan to report the results to the IYC organizers.
